Navigation and anchoring the main activities of the yacht

The yacht can be considered low-emission if its main activities are managed in compliance with this objective.

This can be guaranteed through autonomous driving. One of the main advantages of autonomous yachts is increased safety. Autonomous systems can be programmed to follow safe navigation routes and avoid obstacles, reducing the risk of human error and collisions.

Another advantage of autonomous yachts is increased efficiency. Autonomous systems can optimize the yacht’s speed and direction based on real-time data on wind, waves, and currents, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Additionally, this can also reduce the need for human crew, which in turn can also decrease the operating costs.

The automatic pilot for navigation, interfaced with new and increasingly advanced instruments (Radar, Ais …) is a well-known and widely used device, while the positioning system, used as an alternative to anchoring, is a less widespread system but with great potential.

Being able to remain in position without having to use the anchor allows mooring even in areas where restrictions are in force due to the presence of Posidonia (most of southern Corsica and some areas of the Côte d’Azur for example).

The use of this technology allows to respect the seabed and preserve them.
